Abstract:
This abstract is being done as part of frist semester B.Ed curriculum. The topic of the project was a study on "Plastic; usage and waste management. The data was collected using survey method and use of secondary sources. The study was conducted on ezhupunna panchayath in alappuzha district.
Pollution is one of the biggest disaster all over the world. Usage of plastic in the world is incresed in each year. Humans have produced about 8 billion tons of plastic since 1950 and more than half of it went straight to land fills. All of the plastic thats no longer in use only about 9% was actually recycled. Plastic production and usage has extensively incresed in uncomfortable manner globally. Plastic has several important use and it is on the most versatile municipality substabce used in the world. But their disposal has been growing concern. Plastic which is remaing without recycling can occure some where in the biosphere are some degraded tiny sized particle; the biggest of them is that smolding plastic can release toxic fuming into environment in turnturn taking airpollution. Plastic has affected the health and life of human and it is damaging our environment rapidly it is very difficult to hard to dispose of and contribute to major pollution on earthearth. Plastic is a non biodegradable substance. The effect is worse. It is high time we must realize the harmfull effect.
Study area were a village. According to my study in ezhupunna panchayath about 100% of people use plastic material. There is a proper waste management system is run in my area. Even though a minor portion of polluted area were seen due to the unproper disposal of plastic. Some of them are seriously care about waste management.But some of them not aware about the harmful effect. People must be encouraged to approach the concerned authorities for adopting measure for effective waste dispose the plastic recycling unit properly work in the area but some of them are not co-operated with them we must adapted REUSE-REDUSE-RECYCLING Culture for a better world with full of better healthy man.
